VOCABULARY UNIT 3

Saving up: put mney aside or accumulate it.
Bargain: something that is good value or it's a discount.
Soap Opera: TV, radio: drama serial.
Brand: Make, trademark.
Union Jack: United Kingdom national flag.
Newsagent's: Shop that sells newspapers and sweets.
Afford: you can pay something.
Waste:
use inefficently.

What about...?/ How about...? (+ -ing)
I'm happy to... (+ infinitive)
That sounds like a good plan/ great idea.
Thats works for me/ doesn't work for me.
That's not a bad idea, but how about...? (+ -ing)
That could be a bit difficult. What about...? (+ -ing)
How does that sound?
Do we all agree?
Is everyone happy to go with that idea?


Dialogue
A: OK , so we need to get a birthday present for Pepe.
M: We could by him a football.
N: That doesn't work for me, because he prefers basketball.
A: I suggest we buy him a basketball.
N: No , he has eight basketballs. What abaut buying a jacket?
M: That sounds like a great idea.
A: No, I have a better idea. Why don't we get him a PS4. Do we all agree?
N: That sounds like a good plan.
M: Is everyone happy to go with that idea?
ALL: Oh yes. We all agree. Let's go and buy it !
